  • Mr. David Henley, Headmaster

Mr. Henley earned his B.S. in Middle Childhood Education, with concentrations in mathematics and social studies, from Franciscan University of Steubenville. He later completed a Master’s degree in Education at the University of Findlay. His career began at Our Lady of Consolation Catholic School in Carey, Ohio, where he taught middle school mathematics and social studies and later served as principal. After joining St. Michael Catholic School, he has contributed in multiple roles, including instructional coach, dean of students, and now headmaster of St. Michael the Archangel Chesterton Academy.

The middle child of seven, Mr. Henley discovered his love for teaching early in life while sharing knowledge with his younger brothers. Faith shaped his childhood profoundly—he was homeschooled through Seton Home Study School, attended daily Mass, and helped his mother operate Holy Family Books and Gifts, a Catholic bookstore run from their home.

Mr. Henley is passionate about helping students move beyond memorizing facts to truly understanding concepts and the reasoning behind them. He finds joy in exploring the beauty of God’s creation and in discerning the unique role God is calling him to play within it.

Mr. Henley and his family are active members of St. Michael the Archangel Parish. Mrs. Henley teaches kindergarten at St. Michael School, and together they are blessed with three children.

"So do I," said Gandalf, "and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us.” ― J.R.R. Tolkien, The Fellowship of the Ring

  • Mrs. Maricella Kahle, Office Manager

She has spent her entire career in Catholic education, teaching second grade at Tiffin Calvert and, for the past eight years, at St. Michael the Archangel School in Findlay. Guiding students in preparation for the sacraments of Reconciliation and First Communion has been one of the great joys of her vocation.

A lifelong Findlay resident and parishioner of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, Mrs. Kahle has also been active in athletics as both a player and coach, most recently coaching junior high volleyball at St. Michael’s. She and her husband, who also serves in Catholic education, reside in Findlay with their two dogs and are joyfully expecting their first child.

Mrs. Kahle is passionate about the Catholic faith and is excited to help build a school where students are formed to seek truth, grow in virtue, and become saints.
