Fr. Adam and Rob Spicer met with Bishop Thomas on March 26 to present Chesterton Academy. Bishop Thomas expressed his enthusiasm and support for our efforts thus far. He will be meeting with his team in the coming days to discuss our proposal in more detail and to make his decision as to whether we can move forward with Chesterton Academy.

Fr. Adam and Rob Spicer are scheduled to meet with Bishop Thomas on Wed, March 26, to share the findings of our discernment process, and to seek his blessing and permission to move forward with the Chesterton Academy. 

The leadership team continues to assemble the information desired by the Diocese before the Bishop can make his decision about the new high school. We will not move forward with opening the high school until the Bishop grants his blessing and approval. We hope to meet with him sometime in March / April to present our official proposal.

The Diocese has provided us with an outline of the required process to be followed in order to have our Chesterton Academy formally recognized and blessed by the Bishop. We are grateful for the clarity the Diocese has provided, and for the Chesterton Schools Network which is helping us as we seek to complete the necessary steps.

A group of parents who have students in St. Michael School's 7th grade have expressed their desire for St. Michael the Archangel Chesterton Academy to open in time for their children in 2026.

We are pleased to welcome Teresa Grodi as our newest Board Member! In addition to be the sister-in-law of Fr. Peter, Teresa is a parishioner at St. Joseph, Maumee, the mother of six children, and serves on Pillar 2 for Evangelization for the Diocese of Toledo, and coordinates a large Catholic Moms group in Perrysburg, OH. Teresa brings a wealth of energy, experience, ideas, and opportunities within the Diocese.
