Welcome to the Team, Dr. George McAfee
St. Michael the Archangel Chesterton Academy would like to welcome Dr. George McAfee to our team. Dr. McAfee will be joining our faculty to teach our financial literacy course.
He brings more than three decades of executive leadership experience to his role as a Financial Literacy instructor at St. Michael the Archangel Chesterton Academy. Throughout his career in business and industry—including Energy, Advanced Manufacturing, Supply Chain Management, and SpaceTech—he has led complex business initiatives while developing a strong appreciation for disciplined decision-making, responsible stewardship, and the practical application of financial principles.
Dr. McAfee is also dedicated to education and mentorship. As an adjunct faculty member in the MBA program at University of Findlay, he taught Operations Management and Organizational Leadership, helping graduate students connect classroom concepts to real-world business situations. His academic credentials includes a PhD in International Business with an emphasis in Global Leadership, an MBA with a concentration in Corporate Finance, and a BS in Electronic and Computer Engineering. He also authored 13 juried publications early in his career, reflecting a strong foundation in analytical thinking and problem solving.
His teaching philosophy centers on creating a classroom environment that is safe, positive, and conducive to learning. He emphasizes practical, experience-based instruction so students clearly see how financial concepts apply to everyday decision-making, including the importance of sensible stewardship of resources. Recognizing that students learn in different ways, he uses a variety of teaching methods to strengthen understanding and build competence.
Dr. McAfee likewise believes in appropriately challenging students—encouraging them to think more broadly, take ownership of their learning, and grow in maturity and self-awareness. He approaches his role as both an instructor and a mentor, striving to lead by example while showing care, compassion, and respect for students during an important, formative stage of their development. His goal is to equip students with the knowledge, judgment, and discipline to make sound decisions, act as responsible stewards in their resources, and pursue meaningful, productive lives.
