Welcome to the Team, Dr. Lei Ray Yu

St. Michael the Archangel Chesterton Academy would like to welcome Dr. Lei Ray Yu to our team. Dr. Yu will be joining our faculty to instruct our music program.

Dr. Yu holds a Doctoral degree in Choral Conducting from Boston University, and two Master of Music degrees in Conducting and Organ Performance from the University of Missouri – Kansas City. She is pursuing a Dalcroze Certification because of a personal interest in teaching students with little or no musical experience. 

 Dr. Yu has taught in universities and elementary schools and has served as an organist / music director for a Catholic Cathedral and many parishes.  She has founded children’s choirs in every parish she has served.  The Lord lead Dr. Yu into the Church through music. Music is mathematical and scientific; music reflects logic and emotion; music records history and culture; music develops the mind and the body. She wants to share the Truth with all people through Beauty.
